What if it rains?

We will run rain or shine. We will more than likely delay the start of the race by one hour in the event of a tornado warning, thunderstorm, heavy rain, or other major weather conditions.

Can I walk the course?

OF COURSE! Running is not required and you can walk, jog, or roll. We ask that walkers please start toward the back though when the race starts.

Can kids participate?

Yes.  Children age 4 and under are free. Moms or dads with strollers will be asked to start in the back for safety purposes. Everyone who participates must sign a waiver. People 18 and under must have a legal guardian sign the waiver in addition to themselves.

I don't want to run or walk. Is there another way I can get in on the fun?

Yes! You can volunteer to help with the event. Visit the volunteer page for info. You can also sponsor the event by visiting our sponsor page. Please contact Mrs. Dean for further assistance at bdean@sels.us.

Can young children participate?

Yes! Children four and under can run for free, but they will not receive a t-shirt. The legal guardian must sign a waiver in order for them to participate.

Will the race be timed?

We will not have an official timer this year. There will be a clock at the end of the race or a person with a timer at the end of the race that will shout out times as you cross the finish line, but we will not be recording the times.

What do we do at the end of the race?

There will be light food at the end of the race. In the past we have had fruit, nuts, and granola bars. There will also be a water station half way through the race and one at the end of the race.

Where does the money go?

Half of the proceeds go to Todd Banion and family for medical expenses or other essential items. The other half will go towards an unforgettable prom experience for our juniors and seniors.

Can I wear a costume?

Absolutely!! We want all-ages to participate and dress in costume. There will be prizes for best dressed. Please consider your costume carefully as you will have to run, walk, or roll in them.

What is the route?

The route will be the same as the last two races that the Southeastern junior class held. Participants will start at Southeastern and go behind the school down Rankin. Turn left onto Jamestown and run in front of the school. Next turn left down Church street and right onto Mound. Participants will then jog onto Jamestown Road for a few yards before turning on Willow ending on Williams Street running past the water station in the Catholic Hall parking lot. From there, runners will jog down Jamestown Street turning onto Jamestown Road until they reach the bike path. Follow the bike path until the train depot, getting back on Mound and eventually onto Church street and ending at the high school where it all began.
